International slates

Brazilian and Spanish. Renowned for their beautifully smooth, grey charcoal surface and natural fettled edge, Brazilian slates are extremely hard wearing and perfect for either heritage restorations projects or contemporary new build schemes. Spanish, or barrel-vaulted slates, have a distinctive orange terracotta colour and are often in high demand for projects where developers want to create a Mediterranean look. Because they're coloured before firing they give an instant aged look to any new build project. Great for low slung roofing projects too.

Welsh slates

With their distinctive blue grey hue, and natural fettled edges, our selection of quarried Welsh slates bring a timeless quality to either new or heritage restoration projects. Incredibly resilient to all weathers, and extremes of temperatures, Welsh slate is arguably one of the strongest slates in the world. All sizes available from 12x6 - 28x16. Random Welsh from 24inch to 36inch approx.

Burlington roof slates

Quarried for over 400 years from Kirkby in Furness, Cumbria, Burlington slate has a characteristic blue grey hue which lends itself to both contemporary and heritage restoration projects. Deemed to be a very high quality slate with exceptional understated elegance, it’s also renowned for its strength and durability. Available in both fixed and random widths.

Westmorland roof slates

With its origins in the Lake District, Westmorland Slate has a grey green colour created by the metamorphosed volcanic ash native to the Borrowdale Volcanic group of mountains. It is usually laid on the roof in graded sizes with larger slates at the bottom, grading downwards in size to the ridge. All Random Shoulder Hold from 24inch down.

Machine made roof tiles

Our single and cross camber Rosemary tiles have all the good looks of traditional red clay tiles but the benefits of modern made techniques. Meanwhile, our Acme tiles (which have been made for over 170 years) is another machine made option with a smooth face and a red/orangey hue.
