Sympathetic conversion of Victorian barn into contemporary home
When a Victorian barn undergoes a significant conversion into a modern contemporary home, one of the key challenges from a planning perspective is to retain the original character of the property.
Lewth Hall Barn needed a major overhaul, both to its exterior and interior, requiring a forensic approach to sourcing reclaimed bricks, paving and timbers in keeping with its original design and aesthetics.
Working with Preston-based John Robinson contractors, we helped them source the right materials to enable their careful heritage restoration of the property into a four bedroom home, along with the conversion of outbuildings into garages and workshops.
A key feature of this project was the use of reclaimed bricks of similar age and origin to the building. Our extensive range of bricks, such as Accrington brick, drag wire cut brick and hand made bricks, enabled the architects and contractors to get an accurate match.
