Creating a rustic feel to a new farm shop and cafe
The owners of Saswick House Farm, at Roseacre, near Preston wanted to convert a series of farm outbuildings on their estate into a farm shop and cafe, creating a destination venue that would serve food and drink along with farm produce.
The original outbuildings needed significant restoration and reconstruction so this was a project where heritage brick would play a key role in creating a rustic feel within a contemporary modern space.
Preston-based Robinson Construction was commissioned to redevelop the site and worked with us to source a range of reclaimed materials, particularly bricks which give the scheme a nod to the past within the context of a striking modern contemporary design.
The result is a contemporary dining and retail space which successfully feels at home within its farmyard setting. And a great example of how our extensive supplies of brick can be used on large scale projects where large quantities of the same specification are needed.
