A dramatic makeover to create a large scale German style bier hall
One of the new wave of destination bars to open in Manchester back in 2015, this Victorian building was re-imagined as a Bohemian German bier hall in a palatial makeover that took two years of planning and a full-on 6 months to complete.
Commissioned by Manchester-based destination bar operator Mission Mars this 320 cover bier hall is separated into various intimate spaces with an expansive use of wood to create an authentic German replica of the real thing.
Featuring Alpine style tables and a more formal dining area, as well as wood floors and walls, the use of reclaimed wood and timber in different parts of the venue helped create the unmistakable design of a German bier hall while acknowledging the building’s important Victorian origins.
For projects such as this, our collection of reclaimed industrial timber products found their perfect new home in an architecturally stunning project designed for high capacity drinking, dining and entertainment.
“It’s massive, and you can literally smell the £2m fit out.”
